U14 Action Packed Run
The last little while has been an action packed run for the U14 Nomad Quinte West Golden Hawks.

It started off with a memorable road trip to Kingston which saw the team being evacuated and the fire department being deployed.  Turns out it was a false alarm after testing for an ammonia leak.  The game may have been called off but the Hawks made the most of the parking lot, hanging in vehicles then scrambling for their gear when the fire fighters brought it out for them to sort through.

Saturday the Nomads would take down the Whitby White team in a back and forth battle.  Scoring for the Hawks would be Keegan Goulah (2), Will Aikman our AP and Rhys Lawrence with a snipe from the point.  Assists go to Lawrence, Cohen Heales, and Malcolm Brooks.  Owen Curran held steady between the pipes for the win.

Sunday the team clobbered the Northumberland Nighthawks with a score of 11 to 1.  Hawks goals from Keegan Goulah (2), Malachi Hoornweg (2), Riley Kavanagh (2), Cohen Heales (3), Cam Slone (2).  Helpers from Malcolm Brooks (3), Heales (4), Goulah (3), Rhys Lawrence (2) and Slone (3).  Nico Toussaint remained strong in net earning the win.

Tuesday the team would travel to Whitby to face their Blue team. Cam Slone would open the scoring with an incredible bar down shot from a pass from Malachi Hoornweg.  Slone would land his second of the night as he tipped in a shot from Kale Tawse.  Malcolm Brooks would score from a behind the net pass from Keegan Goulah then Slone would earn his hat trick from a slick pass from Joey Nieman.  Nieman would beat the goalie with 12 seconds remaining to make it a 5 to 1 game for the Hawks.  Owen Curran remained poised and determined in net for the win.

Wednesday saw the team making the trek to take on the Northumberland Nighthawks where the Hawks boasted an 11-0 victory. Nico Toussaint earns the shutout. Scoring for the Nomads were Keegan Goulah (2), Cam Slone, Joey Nieman (3), Malcolm Brooks (3) and Riley Kavanagh.  Assists from Goulah, Nieman, Slone, Brooks (2), Kavanagh, Kale Tawse, Cohen Heales (3), Fynn Ralph and Rhys Lawrence.

The U14 Nomad Quinte West Golden Hawks get to take a few days off before they play in front of a hometown crowd on Sunday at 1:30 pm.  Whitby White comes to town to battle it out after their tight game earlier this week.  It's sure to be an edge of your seat action packed game.  Pack the Dunc and cheer on your favourite team.
