U14 Nomads Clinch 1st Place
The U14 Nomad Quinte West Golden Hawks finished up their regular season this week and have clinched top spot in the Lakeshore Hockey League as they head into playoffs.

Whitby White was on tap this past Sunday which saw the team coming out with a 3 to 1 victory against the Wildcats.  The last few minutes of the game were intense as the Wildcats put on the pressure to try and find the back of our net.  Owen Curran and the team held fast and Whitby wasn't able to capitalize on our penalties.  Scoring for the Hawks would be Joey Nieman, Cam Slone and Riley Kavanagh.  Assist from Cohen Heales, Nieman and Slone.

Next up, the Nomads would face the Kingston Canadians which would again prove to be a back and forth battle.  Owen Curran held steady in net but unfortunately the Hawks fell 4 to 2 to the Canadians.  Joey Nieman would land the 2 goals for the Hawks assisted by Logan Fonger, Cohen Heales and Cam Slone.

Saturday the team would take on the Belleville Bulls where they dropped the Bulls 13 to 0.  Scoring for the Hawks would be Hunter Bradbury, Joey Nieman with a hat trick, Logan Fonger, Cam Slone and Andrew Gilson each with a pair, Riley Kavanagh, Cohen Heales and Malcolm Brooks each with singles.  Assists from Elijah MacDonald (3), Slone, Heales, Nieman, Bradbury(2), Gilson, Brooks, Fonger and Keegan Goulah.  Nico Toussaint with the shutout.

Sunday would be the last game of regular season and the team downed the Oshawa Generals with a score of 5 to 3.  Oshawa would be the first to score but  the Hawks would answer back quickly with Cohen Heales finding the back of the net followed by another quick goal from Riley Kavanagh.  Oshawa would soon tie it up but Heales would score again before the end of the period.  Oshawa would once again tie it up early in the second but Kale Tawse would give the Nomads the lead on a power play goal.  Keegan Goulah would give the team their final goal to secure the win.  Owen Curran was steady between the pipes.  Assists from Joey Nieman, Cam Slone, Malcolm Brooks, Fynn Ralph and Cohen Heales.  The Hawks now are set to get ready for their single round robin games in the playoffs.
