The U14 Nomad Quinte West Golden Hawks started their playoffs this past weekend and earned themselves 4 points.
Saturday the Nomads beat the Northumberland Nighthawks with a score of 8 to 2. Leading in offense would be line mates Cohen Heales, Cam Slone and Joey Nieman. They lit up the scoreboard with 2 goals coming from Heales and Slone each. Joey Nieman notched himself a hat trick and Andrew Gilson would also add one to the tally. Assists from Malachi Hoornweg (2), Slone and Heales. Nico Toussaint was steady between the pipes.
Sunday the Hawks would defeat the North Durham Warriors 9 to 2. Scoring another hat trick for the Nomads would be Joey Nieman. Other goals go to Andrew Gilson, Kale Tawse, Elijah MacDonald (2), Cam Slone and Keegan Goulah. Assists from Hunter Bradbury, Malcolm Brooks(2), Slone(3), Malachi Hoornweg, Fynn Ralph, Logan Fonger, Cohen Heales(2) and Nieman. Owen Curran with the win in net.
