Hawks Drop their First 2 Games of the Season
This week was a busy one for the U14 Nomad Quinte West Golden Hawks which saw them play 4 games. Tuesday the boys took on the Oshawa Generals in a late night game and walked away with the 6 to 1 win.  Goals came from Keegan Goulah, Cam Slone (2), Malcolm Brooks, Logan Fonger and Riley Kavanagh.  Assists from Kavanagh, Fonger, Andrew Gilson, Cohen Heales (2), Joey Nieman, Elijah MacDonald, Brooks, Goulah and Hunter Bradbury.  Owen Curran with the win in net.

The Ajax/Pickering Raiders would make the trek to the Dunc for a Friday night game vs the Hawks that would see the teams end tied at 3.  Riley Kavanagh would open scoring for the team but the Raiders would end the period tied at 1 goal apiece.  In the second, Andrew Gilson would find the back of the net but the Raiders would end the period ahead of the Hawks by one goal and would keep the lead until the final 3 mins where Malcolm Brooks would bury a goal past the hot Ajax netminder.  Hawks would put on the pressure down to the last seconds but their goalie stood on his head to force the game to end in a tie. Assists from Hunter Bradbury, Fynn Ralph and Kale Tawse (2).  Nico Toussaint and Owen Curran shared duties in net.

Saturday would go down as the first loss in the regular season for the Nomads.  The Golden Hawks were hoping for a day of redemption as they set to face the Clarington Toros but instead they fell 8 to 4.  The Toros seem to have figured out how to beat the Golden Hawks as this is the third time they have outmatched them.  Scoring for the Hawks would be Riley Kavanagh (2), Malcolm Brooks and Kale Tawse. Owen Curran, Nico Toussaint shared duties in net.  Assists from Hunter Bradbury (2), Tawse, Kavanagh, Keegan Goulah and Brooks

Sunday the team would add another one to their loss column as they fell short with a score of 5 to 1 against the Peterborough Petes.  Scoring the lone goal for the Nomads would be Cohen Heales, assisted by Malcolm Brooks and Malachi Hoornweg.  Owen Curran held strong in net.

The U14 Nomad Quinte West Hawks will be taking a break from regular season play until they hit the road to Ottawa on January 5th to participate in the Capital Winter Classic.
