Hawks Pick Up Where They Left Off
Quinte West U10A Golden Hawks have continued their winning streak with back to back games this weekend. 


The Hawks took an 8-1 win against Clarington Toros this Saturday on home ice. The team came out strong in the first period, scoring 3 goals to take the lead. The second period saw the same stamina and another 3 goals to secure their lead. Third period did not disappoint with another 2 goals sinking past the Toro’s goalie and only one sneaking in the Hawks’ net. 

Goals were scored by Noah Carre-Stewart(2), Brody Bucholtz(2), Karson Hamilton, Kohen Couperus, Roy Finch and Nikolai Caron. Assists were made by Nikolai Caron, Alex Dolton, Kohen Couperus, Brody Bucholtz, Ben Villeneuve, Josh Korver, Roy Finch and Griffin Van Gemeren. Playing net versus Clarington was Preston Martin


Game 2 for the Hawks this weekend was an on the road 6-2 win, versus Whitby White. Both teams hit the ice with determination to win the game, making the first period a tense battle. The Hawks were able to use their teamwork and score a goal halfway through the period, taking the lead. The second period the Hawks were hungry for the win and secured their lead with another 3 goals; only letting Whitby sneak one goal past the goaltender. The third period of the game the team kept up the pace and fought hard to keep their win, scoring another 2 goals. Whitby was only able to get one goal past the Hawks in the third period. 

A super star hat trick was scored by Alex Dolton, other goals scored by Noah Carre-Stewart(2) and Ben Villeneuve. Assists were made by Josh Korver, Elena Kotsovos, Kohen Couperus, Nico Leone, Griffin Van Gemeren, Brody Bucholtz, Noah Trice, Nikolai Caron and Levi Mallory. Playing net versus Whitby was Bryce Lawrence.


The U10A Hawks are excited for another week full of hockey with 3 upcoming games.
