A big home win against the Belleville Bulls!
The boys were back in action on Monday, November 14th for a heavy-weight matchup versus the Belleville Bulls. First place in the standings was on the line for this highly anticipated tilt. The Golden Hawks came out ready to play!

They opened up the scoring, which was setup by Trevor Brooks coming down the right wing, putting a nice shot on the net, and Jack Andrews was there to knock in a nice rebounder (also assisted by Lord). Just 20 seconds later, Ethan Kenney got the puck in the neutral zone, skated down the ice and snapped in the second goal of the game (unassisted). Tate Webb kept the momentum going for the Hawks with his massive hit on a Bulls player. Apparently, the Belleville Bulls did not get the “Beware of Webb” memo. Building on that momentum, Jacob Brummel slapped in a beauty, with apples going out to Pilatzke and Lordy. The Hawks finished the 1st period, 3-0.

In the 2nd period, the awesome goal tending by both tendies was on full display. Neither team was able to put anything past the goalies.

A couple minutes into the 3rd period, Belleville got on the board with a goal. The Hawks buckled down and kept it at only one goal against. Carson Down was between the pipes for the Golden Hawks and made a ton of great saves! The game finished 3-1 for the Hawks.

This win keeps the Golden Hawks in 1st place in the Lakeshore standings, with an impressive 9-0-1 record.

The boys have a busy weekend ahead (18-20 November), with road games Friday night against the Clarington Toros and Saturday night versus the Peterborough Petes. They wrap up the weekend at home on Sunday, against the Loyalist Jets (5pm, Duncan McDonald).
