Thanksgiving Day tilt versus the Oshawa Generals
The U16A Image Landscaping Golden Hawks were on the road yet again on Thanksgiving Day, versus the Oshawa Generals, for the second game of the season.

In the 1st period, the Hawks were seemingly working off some turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie.
Things started to turn around when star forward Trevor Brooks checked an Oshawa player so hard that he also took out the linesman. Luckily, everyone was okay following the ‘bowling ball’ type body check. Oshawa netted a goal in the last minute of the 1st period.

Midway through the 2nd period, Cole Baird tied up the game 1-1 with nasty little dangler (assisted by Andrews and Brooks). A few minutes later the Hawks were on the powerplay, Brooks passed the puck over to Andrews and he buried it, Hawks up 2-1. Just 30 seconds later, Jacob Brummell tipped in a beauty from a shot from the point by Dexter Slone (also assisted by Pilatzke). Late in the 2nd period, Oshawa answered with a goal, 3-2 Hawks going into the 3rd period.

In the 3rd period, the game was going back and forth. It was like a battle between two heavy weight champs, who refused to give in! Very late in the game, Oshawa pulled their goalie. With the extra attacker on the ice Oshawa had the puck in close and had a great shot on net. Some spectators were known to have said that the tension was so thick that when the Oshawa player shot the puck, that everything was in slow motion, and the Hawks goalie, Joaquim Murray brought out his inner Matrix power! The shot was going halfway up with the net, glove side, but then Murray snagged the puck out of the air and flashed his glove high for all to see. The crowd went crazy at the amazing save!

Murray left the arena with the game MVP honours for his outstanding play in net. The final score ended, 3-2 for the Golden Hawks.
