U15 A Golden Hawks win big against the Kingston Canadians

The U15A Golden Hawks hosted the Kingston Canadians for a late Sunday afternoon tilt. It was a hard-hitting affair, led by a massive hit by Brock Davy early in the 1st period. The tough physical play got the team going on the offensive end.

Charlie Mooney opened the scoring by deflecting a shot from Tate Webb, also assisted by Jack Andrews.  Brock Davy put the Hawks up 2-0 with a hard shot from the point (Unassisted). Kingston responded with a goal, making it 2-1 for the Hawks. Jack Andrews answered with a goal from in close, to give the team a good cushion, assists were from Ethan Kenney and Charlie Mooney.

Kingston responded with an early goal the 2nd period putting the game to 3-2 for the Hawks. Ethan Lord’s massive hit in the 2nd period rallied the team, and they never looked back. Charlie Mooney had an awesome breakaway and scored back-hand, up where grandma keeps the peanut-butter, assists were from Jack Andrews and Dexter Slone. A few shifts later, Colby Coe’s anticipation of a Kingston’s play was similar to Nostradamus predicting world events before they happen. Nostradamus, aka ‘Colby Coe’ stole the puck from a Kingston player at centre ice and went onto score a beauty breakaway goal (Unassisted). Tate Webb fired a bullet from the blue line with a nasty goal, assisted by Keagen Carr. Brock Davy finished the scoring off in the 2nd period with an odd bounce for the Kingston goalie (Unassisted).

In the 3rd period, Kingston got the lone goal. The game finished 7-3 for the Golden Hawks. Carson Down was in net for the Hawks, coming away with the win, and kept the door shut against Kingston despite their 3rd period pressure.

This puts the U15 A Golden Hawks at 6-0-0 on the regular season. Jack Andrews was asked after the game, “how do you like to prepare for your games?” Andrews responded with, “I like to eat a four-cheese bagel, toasted with butter cheddar and bacon. Washed down with chocolate milk and a honey-crueller.”

The Quinte West U15 A Golden Hawks’ next game will be on Saturday, November 20th at 6pm against the North Durham Warriors, in North Durham. Followed by a home game (Duncan McDonald Arena) on Sunday, November 21st at 4:30pm versus the Whitby Wildcats White.
