The Quinte West Image Landscape Peewee A Hawks continue to roll through November as they rack up seven straight wins. Clarington was the first of three games in the past week and the Hawks were put to the test in this one. Brock Davy (Carr) would start the scoring in the first with Dryden Riley making some key saves to keep the momentum going in the Hawks favor. Eli Davis (Lordy, Mooney) and Ethan Lord (Pilatzke, Sillsy) would each score in the second to create a comfortable 3-0 lead heading into the final period. Clarington would get one back in the third but Jack Andrews (Weasy, Carr) would put things out of reach to finish off Clarington with a 4-1 final.

This weekend the Hawks travelled West for both games starting with a matinee game against North Durham on Saturday. The Warriors showed some life in the first with lots of pushback and managed to keep the Hawks off the scoresheet after 10 minutes of play. Brody Pilatzke (Slone) would get the boys started in the second followed by goals from Sunny Fanjoy (Baird, Webby) and Avery Wease (Davy). It would be more of the same in the final period as Holden Webster (Fanjoy, Bairdo) and Pilatzke (Mooney) would each add to the score and finish off the Warriors with a convincing 5-0 win. Carson Down would record the shutout with his solid play for the win.

On Sunday the Hawks travelled back up to Pickering for their third and final showdown of the season. Quinte West came out firing with three relatively quick goals in the first period from Andrews (Davis), Mooney (Webb), and Fanjoy (Sillsy, Coe). Pickering would show some life in the second as they managed to get one back but Weasy (Andrews) would match that goal to keep the lead at 4-1 heading into the third period. Weasy (Andrews) would complete the hat trick and Charlie Mooney (Slone, Davis) would add insult to injury in the third and head home with the 7-1 victory. Dryden Riley made a number of difficult saves in the win, and the Hawks would outscore the Panthers 27-4 in the season series. Stay tuned for the Cobourg Regional Silver Stick which takes place this weekend!
