It was another exciting weekend of hockey and the Quinte West Image Landscape Peewee Hawks!!

It was another exciting weekend of hockey and the Quinte West Image Landscape Peewee Hawks remain unbeaten in the regular season. In the first of two weekend road games, the Hawks travelled to Oshawa for yet another one-sided affair. The boys came out strong in the first period controlling the play and opened up the scoring with Weasey(Coe) getting his first of the game. They would carry that momentum in the second with goals by Fanjoy(Pilatzke, Lordy), Lordy(Coe, Webby), and Carr(Baird). The Hawks continued to dominate into the third as Davy(Slone, Coe) and Weasey would both find the back of the net. Dryden Riley would protect the shutout making some solid saves and come away with a 6-0 victory.

The second in back to back road games saw the Hawks travel to Whitby in a much anticipated showdown with an unbeaten Whitby White squad. This was the first real test in the regular season for the Hawks and our boys kept it exciting. Whitby would open the scoring in the first period but it didn’t seem to shake the confidence of the Hawks who continued to battle hard and fight through adversity. Fanjoy(Weasey, Slone) would manage to muscle in a dirty rebound early in the second and the score would stay 1-1 until the third. As the boys continued to trust their system and move the puck around, Davy(Fanjoy, Mooney) would find himself open and blast in a clapper from the top of the circle. Shortly after that, Baird would make a beautiful long pass to the point and find Davy once again who would blast in his second of the game. The Whitby squad would not give up and managed to net one more but the Hawks persevered and came away with the 3-2 victory. Carson Down remained solid between the pipes and kept the boys at a perfect 8-0 record for the regular season.
