The Perfect Record continues through the regular season for the Quinte West Image Landscape Minor Peewee Hawks. The Hawks battled Kingston in a much anticipated Wednesday evening affair and sent the Canadians home with a sour taste in their mouths. The Hawks came out relatively slow but balanced, moving the puck well and netting one goal when Fanjoy would connect with Kenney. In typical Hawks fashion, the boys came out refocused in the second period and turned the game into a one sided battle. Fanjoy would score 2 in the period with singles also recorded by Mooney, Davy, and Andrews, and assists by Coe, Mooney, Kenney, Sills, and Lordy. Kingston would get one back in the period but never managed to get any momentum as Mooney would score another in the third with help from Carr. Dryden Riley would have a stellar game between the pipes to keep the Hawks perfect regular season intact.

The boys would host the Whitby White team on Sunday which would wrap up the regular season series between the 2 teams. The Hawks won the first two meetings but the Whitby squad scored four goals in their last matchup which is the most scored against the Hawks in any regular season game. The Hawks seemed determined to show that no team should be scoring 4 goals against them...ever. Like dejavu, the boy’s intensity in the first frame was lacking, but Webby received a beauty feed from Coe and would float in a wrister from the blue line to initiate the scoring. The second period was another story as goals by Wease, Fanjoy, Mooney, and Andrews would begin to wear down the Whitby team. Kenney, Slone, and Mooney all had helpers in the period which would give the Hawks a comfortable 5-0 lead going into the final frame. Lordy and Coe would each add another in the third with help from Mooney and Carr. Whitby managed to sneak one past Carson Down in the third, who otherwise played flawlessly in this 7-1 dismantling of Whitby. The Hawks now sit 21-0 in the regular season and continue to gain momentum and chemistry moving forward!
