Quinte West Image Landscape Minor Peewee Hawks continue their winning ways into December! This past Saturday, the Hawks had a much anticipated rematch against the Peterborough Petes. In their first meeting back in September, the Petes limited the Hawks to just 3 goals and kept things interesting while Quinte West managed to pull off a 3-2 win. This rematch would prove that this Hawks team has continued to develop and their chemistry has gotten much better throughout the regular season. In typical Hawks fashion, the boys came out relatively slow in the first period, but Ethan Kenney connected with Sunny Fanjoy to net the Hawks lone goal in the frame. The Petes would match and end the period in at 1-1. The second period was a much different story as the Hawks came out edgy and focused. Fanjoy would log 2 assists in the period connecting with Kenney and Owen Ferguson, and Kenney would assist Ferguson’s second goal of the period as well. Colby Coe would also score with an assist from Sillsy and the Hawks would take a commanding 5-1 lead into the third period. Kenney would record his second goal of the game with an assist from Brock Davy, and the Petes would manage to get one more to end the game at 6-2. Dryden Riley was once again solid between the pipes in another convincing win.

The boys travelled to Ajax on Sunday for a matinee against the Knights. Ethan Lord would initiate the carnage in the first period, assisted by Avery Wease and Jack Andrews. Keagan Carr continued the assault with a helper from Charlie Mooney to end the first frame up 2-0. Fanjoy would score the lone goal in the second period with help from Kenney, and the floodgates would open in the third with Charlie Mooney scoring and Kenney netting 2 of his own. Helpers were logged by Carr, Ferg, and Fanjoy in the final period. Carson Down played a nearly flawless game with the Knights only getting 1 past him in the third period to end the game with a 6-1 victory.
