Quinte West Image Landscape Minor Peewee Hawks push their regular season record to 17-0!  The Hawks have put together two more solid weekends of hockey and continue to dominate the regular season.  After bringing home the banner from Stoney Creek, the boys headed to Clarington to face the rival Toros on Saturday evening.  The Hawks jumped out to a quick start as Sunny Fanjoy connected with Ethan Kenney to start the scoring on the first shift of the game.  Charlie Mooney and Avery Wease each added a goal in the first with helpers from Ethan Lord and Holden Webster. The Toros managed to sneak one past Dryden Riley but the Hawks maintained a 2 goal advantage going into the second period.  The offensive pressure would continue with another goal from Kenney and Wease, and Ty Turpin would score late to crush the hopes of the Toros and finish with a demanding 6-2 victory.

On Sunday, the Toros came to Trenton for a rematch in an early afternoon battle.  This game left no question as to who is the truly dominate team.  The boys tallied a total of 11 goals throughout the game: 4 from Kenney, 2 from Keagan Carr and Ty Turpin, and singles from Colby Coe, Charlie Mooney and Owen Ferguson.  Helpers were recorded from Dex Slone, CarrWease, Andrews, FergSillsy, Lordy, Fanjoy, and Mooney.  Carson Down had another strong showing between the pipes only letting 2 shots get by and leading the Hawks to the 11-2 victory.  This game felt like the Hawks have been toying with the Toros long enough, so they made a strong statement in this win to sweep the season series.

This past weekend the Hawks travelled to Oshawa for a Saturday matinee against the Generals.  This offensive juggernaut was led by Sunny Fanjoy’s hatrickWease and Kenney with 2 goals each, and a single by Carr.  Dryden Riley recorded the shutout as the Hawks systematically dismantled the Generals with a 8-0 finish.

Sunday brought the Hawks back home for a match-up with a hungry Whitby White team.  The Hawks started off uncharacteristically strong with 2 goals each by Carr and Jack Andrews.  The visitors tried to mount a comeback with 2 goals of their own in the second, matched by one more by Fanjoy to end the second period at 5-2.  The third period was back and forth with Whitby netting 2 more goals but the Hawks bested that with 2 from Charlie Mooney and a single by Lordy.  Brock Davy and Charlie Mooney both recorded 3 assists each in this game with other helpers by Slone, Turpin, Andrews, and Webby.  Carson Down faced numerous shots and made key saves to keep the Hawks at a perfect 17-0 in the regular season!
