The Quinte West Image Landscape Minor Peewee Hawks remain unbeaten in the regular season.

The Hawks participated in the Justin Williams AA tournament on October 19-21st in Cobourg. They came out to a strong start with a 7-4 win over Oshawa which was highlighted by two goals from Ethan Kenney, and singles by Avery Wease, Owen Ferguson, Sunny Fanjoy, and Charlie Mooney. Dryden Riley was solid in net for the win. Game 2 was a back and forth affair with the host team Northumberland. The Hawks saved a 4-4 tie with a late goal by Kenny and some outstanding net minding from Carson Downs in the 3rd period. Mooney also scored twice and another single was scored by Keegan Carr. Game 3 was another tough battle for the Hawks as they faced the Whitby Blue squad. They were able to hold off their opponents through the first period to keep things even with no score. The Blue scored once in the 2nd and again in the 3rd to grab a stranglehold, then sealed the deal with an empty netter to shut the Hawks out 0-3. Unfortunately, this put the boys out of position to move on to the Semifinals and they had to swallow an early exit. Well fought Tourney Hawks!

The Quinte West Image Landscape Minor Peewee Hawks jumped right back into the regular season with 3 games over this past weekend. Friday night was an away game as the boys travelled to Pickering. The offensive beatdown was led by goals from Wease, Turpin, Carr, Kenney, and Ferg. Assists by Slone, Kenney, Ferg, Lordy, and Mooney set the tone with some good puck movement and team chemistry as the Hawks got the 6-0 win. Down had a solid shutout in the victory.

Saturday took the Hawks to Uxbridge to face a hungry North Durham squad. Coe and Kenney scored 2 goals each with assists by Lordy, Mooney, Slone, Webby, and Brock Davy. Riley had a strong outing only letting one shot through to get the 4-1 victory.

Sunday brought the Hawks back to the Duncan McDonald Arena for their first home game in two weeks. There would be no disappointing the hometown crowd on this day, as the Hawks were focused on shutting down a highly anticipated matchup against Clarington. This was a physical affair right off the puck drop with multiple penalties assessed to the home team. They would settle a bit after a first period goal by Fanjoy, assisted by Wease, put the score at 1-0. In the second period the flood gates opened with 2 goals by Turpin and singles by Wease and Kenney. Clarington would finally hit the score sheet in the third period with two goals, but the Hawks would match with goals by Ferg, and Turpin who would complete his hat trick! Andrews, Ferg, and Keeney would each pick up an assist and Fanjoy would pick up 4 assists in this lopsided 7-2 victory. Down had another strong showing between the pipes and the win puts the Hawks at 11-0 in the regular season! Upcoming games include Whitby and North Durham this weekend, and they will travel to Stoney Creek on Nov 8th for the 35th Tournament of Champions!
