Hawks Drop First 2 Games to Wildcats
The Rhino Hockey Training Atom Hawks lost the first 2 games of their second round OMHA Playdown series to the Whitby (Blue) Wildcats.
On Saturday the Hawks traveled to Whitby to take on the top seeded Wildcats and put in a great effort but came up just short in a 5-4 loss. Scoring for the Hawks were Gavin Armstrong, Quinton Bogart, Jakob Harnest and Tyson Gregory. Picking up assists were Brendan Reid, Harnest, Pearson MacDonald, Armstrong, Matt Hicks and Connor Boates. Cooper Martin played well in net.
On Sunday the Hawks hosted game 2 of the series and could never get going as the Wildcats played a strong game and left town with a 4-0 win. Noah Groeneveld was solid in net for the Hawks but it was not enough on this day.
The teams will meet in Whitby on Wednesday for game 3 of the series followed by game 4 on Saturday in Trenton (if necessary) and Sunday back in Whitby (if necessary).
