Hawks Pick up Tie & Win This Week
The Rhino Hockey Training Atom Hawks picked up a tie and a win this week setting up a one game, winner take all battle Tuesday night in Northumberland.

On Tuesday the Hawks battle the Northumberland Nighthawks to a 2-2 tie. Connor Boates opened the scoring early in the first period with a powerplay goal assisted by Gavin Armstrong and Brendan Reid. The Nighthawks would score 2 after that taking a 2-1 lead to the third period. The home side would tie the game with just over 10 minutes remaining on a goal by Colby Armstrong. Boates and Tyson Gregory picked up the assists. Noah Groeneveld had a strong game in net and would close the door the remainder of the way and the game would end in a tie.

On Saturday the Hawks traveled to Clarington to take on the Toros. Again the Hawks would hit the scoreboard early on a goal by Reid with the assist going to Armstrong. This lead would hold up until the third period when the Toros tied it with six minutes remaining. The Hawks would not be beat on this day though as Reid picked up his second of the game which would prove to be the winner from Armstrong and Haker with just over four minutes remaining. Cooper Martin was strong in net and picked up the win.

These results set up a winner take all game with the Nighthawks in Northumberland this Tuesday. The winner will advance o the second round of the OMHA playoffs.
