Hawks Advance to Lakeshore League Semi-Final
The Rhino Hockey Training Atom Hawks split their two games this weekend. With a win on Saturday it was enough to move them on to the Lakeshore League semi-final.
On Saturday the Hawks traveled to Pickering and played a solid game. The end result was a 4-1 victory. Brendan Reid led the offence with 2 goals while single markers went to Quinton Bogart and Colby Wiersma. Assists went to Tyson Gregory, Gavin Armstrong, Eli Kenney and Connor Boates. Noah Groeneveld was strong in net and picked up the win.
On Sunday the Hawks wrapped up the round robin series in Clarington against the Toros. In what was a close game throughout the Toros came away with a 4-2 win. Reid and Gregory supplied the goals while Matt Hicks(2), Pearson MacDonald and Kenney had the assists. Cooper Martin was solid between the pipes.
The Hawks will now face the Whitby Wildcats in the Lakeshore League semi-final. The schedule is still to be determined.
