Hawks Lock Up Second Seed in Lakeshore League
The Klemencic Homes Atom 'A' Hawks locked down the second seed heading into the Lakeshore League Playoffs with 2 big wins on the weekend.
Although they finished one point behind the Whitby (Blue) Wildcats the get the second seed based on winning percentage as the Hawks played one less game.
On Saturday the Hawks earned a hard fought 3-2 victory over the Whitby (Blue) Wildcats setting themselves up to clinch the spot. Michael Dolton led the offence with two goals and an assist. Keenan Wiles notched the other marker with Justin Bolduc adding an additional assist. Logan Vale was solid in net picking up the win.
On Sunday the Hawks needed a win over the tenth place Kingston Canadiens and they got just that as the went in to Kingston and rolled over the Canadiens 7-1. Scoring for the Hawks were Dolton(2), Jakob Gardner, Ryan Kirk, Geoffrey Boates, Justin Bolduc and Eamonn Deery. Picking up assists were Ben Davy, Mac Slone, Gardner and Dolton.
First round playoff matches have yet to be confirmed but it looks as though the Atom Hawks will face-off against the Ajax Knights to open the playoffs.
