Hawks Win York Simcoe/Lakeshore Challenge
The Klemencic Homes Atom Hawks wrapped up their season this past weekend by sweeping the Bradford Bulldogs in a 2 game series to win the York Simcoe/Lakeshore Challenge in which the winners of the York Simcoe and Lakeshore Leagues face-off.

In game one the Hawks had to shake off some rest after not playing for two weeks. The hawks opened the scoring in the first on a goal by Jack Lowry but found themselves trailing 2-1 heading to the third period. Michael Dolton evened the score with just over four minutes remaining and then Geoffrey Boates converted a beautiful pass from Lowry to score the game winner with just 40 seconds left on the clock. Other assists went to Shane Jerrett, Boates and Jakob Gardner. Seamus Killen was solid in net picking up the win.

In game two Bradford jumped out to the early lead and led 1-0 after the first period before the Hawks scored three unanswered goals in the second to take  a 3-1 lead to the third period. In the third period the floodgates opened with the teams combining for eight goals. The Hawks held on to take a 7-5 win and claim the championship. Dolton led the offence scoring 3 goals while other tallies came from Jerrett, Keenan Wiles, Lowry and Ryan Kirk. Picking up assists were Daniel McLeod(3), Jerrett(2), Justin Bolduc and Kirk. Logan Vale got the win in net.

The Hawks completed another successful season by wining this championship for the third straight year. Their overall record was 57-11-1.
