Hawks Claim Third Straight Lakeshore League Title
The Klemencic Homes Atom 'A' Hawks defeated the Whitby Wildcats 5-2 in Game 3 of the league final to complete the series sweep and claim their third consecutive Lakeshore League Championship.
The Hawks took a 1-0 lead after the first period and found themselves tied at one after two but took control in the third period scoring three unanswered goals and then secured the victory with an empty net goal. Michael Dolton lead the offence scoring four gaols for the home side. Ryan Kirk added the other tally. Picking up assists were Daniel McLeod(2), Eamonn Deery, Jack Lowry, Shane Jerrett and Ben Davy. Seamus Killeen picked up the win in net.
The Hawks now advance to the York Simcoe/Lakeshore challenge to face the York Simcoe league champion (Bradford leads Innisfil 1-0 in their series). This will be a two game total point series taking place on April 9 in Whitby.
