Hawks Punch Their Ticket To OMHA Semis
The World Elite Training Minor Peewee Hawks booked a spot in the OMHA semi-finals with a huge 4-3 overtime win on Sunday.

It didn't come easy as the Hawks first traveled to Clarington on Saturday for game four of the series and their first chance to close it out. After falling behind 3-0 they fought back in the final minutes but came up just short and lost 3-2 forcing game 5 on Sunday. Brendan Reid and Gavin Armstrong scored for the Hawks with Noah Marsh and Cael Hussey recording assists. Noah Groeneveld was solid in net.

Heading into game five with a 5 points to 3 lead in the series the Hawks needed a win or tie to move on to the OMHA semi-final. After falling behind 2-0 in the second the Hawks pulled out their never say die attitude and fought back to tie the game before the end of the period. They would once again fall behind after an early third period marker by the Toros but fought back once again to tie the game with just under four minutes to play on a goal by Brendan Reid setting up a dramatic overtime finish. With Clarington needing a win to stay alive they pulled their goalie with a minute to go but the move backfired as Tyson Gregory scored the winner with 30 seconds to play after an unbelievable save by Nowl Wallace at the other end. Reid and Gregory would each end the game with two goals while assists went to Connor Boates(2), Matt Hicks, Connor Kokonas and Eli Kenney. Wallace was great in net and got the win.

The Hawks will now face the Orillia Terriers in the OMHA semi-final. The schedule has not yet been released but the Hawks will have home ice advantage with a likely start on Saturday.
