Hawks Lose First Two Games In Quarter Final Series
The Rhino Hockey Training Novice 'A' Hawks put up a valiant effort but find themselves trailing their first round series 2-0 to a very strong Clarington Toros team.
In the series opener on Saturday the Hawks came out strong taking an early 1-0 lead but could not find their legs in the final two periods dropping an 8-2 decision to the Toros. Tyson Gregory and Colby Wiersma supplied the offence while Quinton Bogart and Tiernan Deery each chipped in with an assist.
On Sunday a hungry Hawks team had Clarington on their heels for most of the game but eventually fell 5-3 in what was a very exciting game. Gregory led the offence with two goals while Noah Lesser picked up a single. Assists went to Owen Vis(2) and Connor Boates.
The series resumes on Saturday in Clarington and if the Hawks can pull off a victory they will host game 4 on Sunday.
