The Rhino Hockey Training Novice A Hawks had a strong weekend coming away with a win and a tie.
On Saturday the Hawks jumped out to an early lead and held on for a 3-1 win over the Oshawa Generals. Tyson Gregory scored two while Noah Lesser picked up a single. Assists went to Connor Boates, Tiernan Deery and Evan Beamish. Reese Deline picked up the win in net.
On Sunday the Hawks played well early but could not find the back of the net. They found themselves trailing 6-2 with 14 minutes to play but came storming back and tied the game as Noah Lesser scored with 30 seconds remaining and the goalie pulled to even the score at 6-6. Pearson MacDonald(2), Colby Jones, Gregory, and Quinton Bogart supplied the other goals while Owen Vis(2), Boates, Matt Hicks, Jakob Harnest and Colby Weirsma picked up assists. Alex Bisset was solid in net.
The Hawks have a light week this week as they host the Whitby (Blue) Wildcats in their lone game on Sunday.
