Hawks Win Playstation Platinum Cup
The Klemencic Homes Atom 'A' Hawks captured the Playstation Platinum Cup Championship in dominating fashion this past weekend.

The Hawks opened the tournament with a 7-1 victory over the West Toronto Renegades. After falling behind 1-0 early in the first period the boys found their game and never looked back the entire weekend. Scoring for the Hawks in game 1 were Michael Dolton(3), Eamonn Deery(3) and Jakob Gardner while assists went to Dolton(2), Keenan Wiles, Shane Jerrett, Geoffrey Boates, Mac Slone and Ryan Kirk. Seamus Killeen Picked up the win in net.

In game 2 Jack Lowry led the offence scoring 8 seconds into the game and then added 6 more tallies and an assist for an impressive 8 point game as the Hawks cruised to an 11-2 win over the Credit Valley Wolves. Other goals came from Dolton(3) and Deery. Assists went to Tyvian Koets(2), Justin Bolduc(6), Daniel McLeod, Deery and Ben Davy. Logan Vale got the win in net.

On Saturday the Hawks picked up where they left off with a 6-0 shutout of the Toronto Eagles. Dolton continued his hot pace scoring 2 goals while Lowry, Bolduc, Slone and Deery picked up the other markers. Adding assists were Dolton, Wiles, Jerrett and Boates. Killeen recorded the shutout.

After 3 straight wins the Hawks headed into a quarter final matchup against the winless Hillcrest Summits and left no doubt that they were in it to win it with a 14-0 win. The offence was led by Boates and Lowry who each recorded hat tricks while the other goals came from Koets, Dolton, Wiles, Slone, McLeod, Deery, Davy and Gardner. Getting the helpers were Dolton(4), Koets(3), Bolduc, Boates and Deery. Vale got the shutout in net.

On Sunday the Hawks opened up with a semi-final rematch against Credit Valley and proved the first win was not a fluke as they cruised to a 9-1 victory and booked a spot in the championship game. Goals were scored by Lowry(3), Dolton(2), McLeod(2), Deery and Gardner while assists came from Dolton(2), Kirk(2), GArdner(2), Jerrett, Boates, Slone and Davy. Killen again was solid picking up the win.

In he final the Hawks were not going to be denied as they put together a complete performance in blanking the West Toronto Renegades 8-0. Scoring for the Hawks were Lowry(2), Jerrett(2), Dolton, McLeod, Deery and Davy. Picking up helpers were Koets, Lowry, Wiles Bolduc, Boates, McLeod and Deery. Vale recorded the win in net.

The Hawks are back in Lakeshore League action this weekend as they host the Pickering Panthers on Saturday in their lone game of the week.
