Submitted By Mike Boates on Sunday, September 29, 2019
The World Elite Training Minor Peewee Hawks ran their win streak to four games this weekend with victories over the Pickering panthers and Whitby Wildcats

On Saturday the Hawks hosted the Panthers and came out very strong building a 3-0 lead early in the second before the visitors stormed back to tie the game at 3. The teams would trade goals after that before the home side would score the game winner with seven minutes remaining. Jakob Harnest led the attack with two goals while singles went to Connor Boates, Gavin Armstrong and Brendan Reid. Picking up assists were Reid(2), Cael Hussey(2), Sterling Poff, Aiden Haker and Noah Marsh. Nowl Wallace made some big saves late in the game to secure the win in net.

On Sunday the Hawks traveled to Whitby to take on a tough Wildcats team. In what was there most complete game so far this season they once again jumped out to a 3-0 and held this heading to the third period. Whitby would score two to make it close but could not get the equalizer before the Hawks locked it up with their fourth goal late in the third. Brendan Reid paced the offence with a hat trick and Cael Hussey picked up the other goal on a great feed from Tyson Gregory. Eli Kenney also picked up an assist. Noah Groeneveld had a solid game in net including a late save on a penalty shot to lock up the win.

The Hawks are back in action this week when the head to Pickering on Friday to face the Panthers before returning home on Saturday to host the North Durham Warriors at 2:15pm.
