Hawks Open Regular Season With A Win & A Loss
The World Elite Training Minor Peewee Hawks started the Lakeshore League regular season this weekend and came away with a win and a loss.
On Saturday the Hawks traveled to Pickering and opened the season with a 5-2 win over the Panthers. Connor Boates led the offence with two goals while singles went to Sterling Poff, Jakob Harnest and Tyson Gregory. Picking up assists were Brendan Reid(2), Gavin Armstrong(2), Harnest and Gregory. Nowl Wallace picked up the win between the pipes.
On Sunday the Hawks played host to the Whitby Wildcats. After the home side got out to an early 1-0 lead the Wildcats stormed back with 5 unanswered goals and walked away with a 5-2 victory. Cael Hussey and Aiden Haker scored for the Hawks while assists went to Poff, Harnest and Noah Marsh.
The regular season resumes this weekend when the Hawks play host to the Peterborough Petes on Saturday at 2:15pm before traveling to Ajax on Sunday to take on the Knights.
