Hawks win One of Three
The Rhino Hockey Training Atom Hawks were only able to win one of three games this past weekend.
On Friday they traveled to Whitby to take on the first place Wildcats (white) and were on the wrong end of a 6-0 score.
On Saturday the Hawks hosted the Peterborough Petes in what was a back and forth affair before Peterborough scored three unanswered goals in the third period to take a 7-4 victory. Scoring for the Hawks were Tyson Gregory(2), Colby Wiersma and Jakob Harnest. Assists went to Wiersma, Quinton Bogart, Gregory, Harnest and Aiden Haker.
On Sunday the Hawks would find their game and in doing so picked up a 4-1 win over the Pickering Panthers. Gregory led the offence scoring a hat trick while Brendan Reid picked up the other goal. Picking up assists were Harnest(2) and Gavin Armstrong. Noah Groeneveld was strong in net picking up the win.
The Hawks are off to Toronto this weekend to take part in the Playstation Platinum Cup tournament.
