Hawks Play Well to Earn Split Against Top 3 Teams
The Rhino Hockey Training Minor Atom Hawks had games scheduled against each of the top 3 teams this past week.

The week started with a game against the first place Whitby Wildcats (white) on Tuesday in Whitby. Despite a strong effort and a near miss with the goalie pulled at the end of the game the Hawks fell 2-1. Eli Kenney scored the lone goal with Gavin Armstrong drawing the assist. Alex Bisset had a strong game in net.

On Friday the Hawks were scheduled to play the second place Whitby Wildcats (Blue) but the game was postponed due to weather and will be rescheduled.

Saturday the Hawks played host to the third place Clarington Toros and took the early 3-2 lead after a wide open first period. Scoring was limited after that but Quinte West held on for a 4-3 win. Tyson Gregory led the offence with 2 goals while Jakob Harnest and Armstrong picked up the others. Assists went to Colby Wiersma, Owen Vis, Connor Boates and Kenney. Cooper Martin was solid between the piped and picked up the win.

The Hawks are now off for the holiday season before wrapping up the regular season schedule in early January.
