Cujo Invitational Sapphire Champions!
The Trenton Tyke 7 Nomads participated in the Curtis Joseph Invitational tournament this past weekend.  



On Friday, the team suffered a loss in their first game of the tournament, falling to a 10 - 0 to the Halton Hills Thunder.  The team lost again in their game against the Brantford 99'ers 6-3.  Scoring for the Hawks were Sullivan Tait and Cam Slone, who added two.  Assists came from Rhys Lawrence and Gerald Whaley.

Saturday morning brought another tough loss against the Ajax White Knights in a score of 3 - 0.  Saturday afternoon the team was able to bring in their first win of the tournament.  They beat the Bradford Bulls 9 to 1.  Seth Scaletta lead in scoring with four goals.  Kale Tawse and Cam Slone each brought in two goals.  Joey Nieman added 1 goal.  Assisting in goals were Brad Senior (2), Malachi Hoornweg, Tyler MacDonald, Ethan Lesser, Lawrence, Nieman (2), Scaletta and Tawse. 

On Sunday the team took on the Hamilton Huskies in the finals.  The Hawks came out on top with a 7 to 6 overtime win. Cam Slone and Seth Scaletta both scored two goals each.  Malcolm Brooks and Brad Senior both added a goal.  The overtime winner was added by Joey Nieman. Assists  came from Tyler MacDonald (2), Kale Tawse, Malachi Hoornweg, Slone, Scaletta (2), and Nieman (3).

Mason Taylor and Nora Jones took turns in net throughout the tournament, making incredible saves and putting forth a stellar performance. Their efforts in net lead the team to their Sapphire Championship title.  

Home game action happens on Saturday Jan 28th at 1pm as they play against the Pickering Panthers.  There is a second home game on Sunday as they face the Ajax Knights at 12:30 pm.
