Hawks vs 2nd place Pickering Panthers and what a game indeed. Panthers hit their home ice
with a dominance that let the Hawks know 1st place was on the line and the Panthers wanted it.
The majority of the 1st period was spent in the neutral zone with no real scoring opportunities
for either the Hawks or the Panthers. Early in the 2nd the Panthers were given a controversial
goal that was ruled in by the referees, while not one of the 3 referees in position to make the
call. So here we go. That’s all our boys need. A little yeehaw spirit and watch the score clock.
Near the end of the second Miller scored a beauty along the ice glove side on a great angle, assists from A White and Woodie. Number 2 was a Cam Hagerman goal in the 3rd with great execution of passing from D-Men Dane Hoard and Jake Hale-Sanders. Maybe the highlight of the night was Hawks 3rd goal scored by Cam O’Rourke, and the Monkey is off his back with helpers from Mike Chambers and the “Flyin' Hawaiian” Mason Hum . Dryden Bedard “the Dark Knight” saw some quality shots and was up for the challenge on a 3 on nothing breakaway ……. 3 Panthers ! Hawks denied….Tristan “The Piston” Cowan added the fourth with a dangle, a deke, a dangle, a deke and all that on his way to a breakaway on an empty Panther net. Final score 4-1 Hawks 2 points Next game at the Dunc vs this pesky Panthers gamete 7:30 Sunday evening at the Dunc.
