Peewee Hawks Win Richmond Hill Early Bird
Hawks Start Their Season On a Winning Note!
The Scaletta Group Hawks won their opening tournament of the year by defeating the Stratford Warriors 3-2 in the Final of the Richmond Hill Stars Early Bird Tournament. The Hawks opened the tournament with a 4-0 victory over the Richmond Hill Stars, followed by at 5-3 victory over the Stouffville Clippers. In the their third game, they ran into penalty trouble early and often and lost 4-1 vs the Stratford Warriors. The Hawks rebounded later Saturday evening by beating the Oakville Rangers 5-0, setting up a Semi Final game vs the 1st Place Kitchener Rangers in Pool B. The game was very hard fought by both teams, but the Hawks held on for a 3-2 victory which set up a rematch against the Stratford Warriors in the Final. The Hawks were determined to not be defeated twice and came out strong, building a 3-0 lead going into the third. The Warriors managed to cut the lead to 3-2, but the Hawks held on to win the Final.
