This past week was a successful one for the "Wahoo". They went 2 and 1 in the round robin moving on to the Semi Finals. Frontenac was a tough Team to play against as they were hard on the puck and had great goal tending, yet Wahoo came through with a huge game winning goal by Trent Mifsud in 3 on 3 OT.
In the Finals, they faced Picton, a Team that they lost to in the round robin. A motivational pre-game speech from Wayne Baril seemed to pump up the Wahoo Team who were the under dogs going in. Within the first 5 minutes, Wahoo had jumped out to a 3-0 lead. Picton, a very tough Team, pushed back hard attempting to get back in the game.Wahoo dug a little deeper, pushed back even harder and came away with a huge victory winning the tournanment representing Trenton.The entire Team played amazing hockey from the goal line out, while Ainsley Hickerson scored her first goal of the year with a blistering shot from the slot, beating the Picton goaltender.
