Silverstick U16A Champions!!!
The U16 Quinte West Golden Hawks are Silverstick Champions!

This marks the teams second tournament championship win this season as they walked away victorious in Northumberland this past weekend.

In Friday's game action the Hawks took on the Whitby White team which ended in a 1-1 tie.  Joey Nieman scored the teams goal which was assisted by Kale Tawse and Cohen Heales.  Ross Martin with the win in net.
That evening the team would face the West Carleton Crusaders where Sebby Lord would lead in the pipes and the Hawks would sail to a 4-2 victory.  Heales and Chase Ridyard would both net two goals and assists would come from Keegan Goulah, Logan Fonger, Cam Slone, Andrew Gilson, Elijah MacDonald and Tawse.

Saturday the team would experience their first and only loss from tournament play this season.  Leitrim would walk away with that game 4-1.  Kale Tawse scored the lone goal which was assisted by Andrew Gilson.   The Hawks then advanced to the Semi-finals game against Kingston winning 4-3.  Goals from Rhys Lawrence, Chase Ridyard(2) and Cohen Heales. Assists from Fynn Ralph, Cam Slone, Ryker Wood and Ridyard.  Ross Martin with the win in net making several key saves.

Sunday the boys came to play and dropped the Stittsville Rams 11-2 which lead to the U16 team being crowned Silverstick Champions.  The Hawks found the back of the net early and fast landing the first 5 goals in under 4 minutes.  Opening the onslaught was Keegan Goulah followed by Cohen Heales(2), Rhys Lawrence(2), Chase Ridyard(2), Kale Tawse, Ryker Wood, Logan Fonger and Cam Wood.  Assists from Heales (2), Fynn Ralph, Joey Nieman, Ryker Wood, Sullivan Tait and Goulah. 

As a result of this impressive win, the team will be defending their championship title at the International Silverstick in January in Newmarket.  

The U16 team returns to league play this weekend where they travel to Kingston on Friday night. On Saturday you can find the team squaring off against Whitby White at 6:30pm at the Dunc.  Come on out and see the team in action!
