Jr. Mac
Our popular Jr Mac program is ideal for our younger players (born 2017 or later) who want to play hockey.
This is primarily a learn to skate program that focuses on skating in full hockey equipment to prepare them for the challenge of games. Players will have an opportunity to play with a puck or a ball on the ice.
Parents are allowed to go on the ice provided they wear a helmet and skates. The instructor may ask you to.
The fee for Jr. Mac is $225 and is available for children up to age 5. This program will start the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
We are limited to the number of people we can have on the ice but are looking for volunteers. If this is something you may be interested in please reach out to our House League Convener,
Cheryl Carrier
. Volunteers must wear a helmet and skates at all times on the ice.
Tips for parents bringing their player to the rink for the first time.
1) Talk to your player prior to coming to the arena and prepare them that you will not be on the ice with them, but will be watching and cheering for them from the stands.
2) Practice putting the equipment on and off at home so they get used to the process and the gear.
3)The number of players in the dressing room at one time is limited to 10. For this reason, we have prohibited parents from entering the dressing room. Coaches may help with skates, but we encourage you bringing your player into the rink dressed. Parents may use the lobby to help their player get dressed, but must maintain social distance.
4) Remind them that they will fall - ALOT. This is all part of the process of becoming a hockey player!
5) They may bring a water bottle, but it should be labelled and easy for them to use independently.
6) Parents are not allowed on the players bench.
