Quinte West U13AA wins OMHA Championship, Advances to OHF Championships
Quinte West U13 Golden Hawks, sponsored by Environmental 360 Solutions, were crowned OMHA Champions in the U13AA category in Whitby this past weekend.

The Hawks, ranked 21st in Ontario,  battled hard in round robin play, ending up tied for second with a record of 1-2-0.  Earning their birth to the semi-finals on a tie breaker (fewest goals against), the team pushed forward, defeating the Oakville Rangers 1-0.  They earned their spot in the finals to face the Burlington Eagles, ranked number 4 in Ontario.

The final game, Quinte West came out strong, defeating Burlington in a convincing 5-1 victory, earning the coveted RED HATS and title of OMHA Champions

Team members include: Brixton Benoit, Kadyn Bowden, Nikolai Caron, Kohen Couperus, Nico DiPietrantonio, Alex Dolton, Karson Hamilton, Noah Howie, Reed Kavanagh, Joshua Korver, Bryce Lawrence, Nico Leone, Preston Martin, Cody Mechetuk, Noah Trice, Griffin Van Gemeren, Ben Villeneuve

Coaches: Paul O'Connor, Matt Couperus, Dennis Korver, Matt Joice, and John O'Brien

This is the first OMHA Championship team at the AA level and will be the first team to represent Quinte West at the OHF Championships, April 18-20 in Aurora, in the AA category.
