Hawks Hammer the Petes
The World Elite Training Minor Peewee Hawks came storming out of the gate in their first game after the Christmas break with a big 7-2 win over the Petes in Peterborough.
The Hawks got off to an early 2-0 lead before the Petes tied the game early in the second period. That was all the offence Peterborough could muster up as the Hawks scored five unanswered goals the rest of the way and cruised to victory. Quinte West goals came from Cael Hussey(2), Connor Boates, Tyson Gregory, Brendan Reid, Connor Kokonas and Gavin Armstrong. Picking up assists were Sterling Poff(3), Reid(3), Hussey, Gregory, Boates, Matt Hicks, Armstrong and Noah Marsh. Noah Groeneveld stood tall in net and picked up the win.
The Hawks head into the final weekend of the regular season looking to secure a first place finish with two home games. On Saturday they play host to the Ajax Knights at 2:15pm while on Sunday they face-off against the Oshawa Generals at 3:30pm which could be the deciding game for the top spot in the minor peewee division.
