Hawks Open With A Tie In Lakeshore Playoffs
The 413 Wing Peewee AE Hawks traveled to Oshawa on Sunday afternoon for game 1 of their Lakeshore Playoff Round Robin.

The Hawks would give up the first goal 3 minutes into the first frame, but settled into a back and forth affair with the Generals. Both teams would combine for 28 minutes in penalties making special teams a crucial part of the game. The Hawks would tie the game early in the second period on the powerplay. Owen Ferguson ripped a slap shot, right off the draw from the point, beating the Oshawa netminder cleanly. Jacob Briscoe had the lone assist. Early in the third, the Hawks took the lead when Domenico Scime buried a rebound, with assist to Ferguson and Brock Kritzer. Three minutes later Oshawa would tie up the game with a nice deflection, beating Cooper Martin.  The Hawks went 6 for 6 on the penalty kill and 1 for 8 on the power play.  Martin turned away 29 shots in the tie for the Hawks, coming up with some big saves against an aggressive opponent.

The Peewee AE Hawks will return to action next Sunday on the road, taking on the Ajax Knights Peewee A team.
