Golden Hawks Continue to Fly!
This past weekend our U10 Quinte West Golden Hawks earned themselves another 2 big wins!
On Saturday our Golden Hawks hosted the Oshawa Generals for the first time this season. Our Hawks were flying taking an early lead and they never looked back taking a 13-2 victory. Goals scored by Colby MacDonald (4), Blake Gregory (3), Wade Robinson (2), Max Taylor (2), Michael Villeneuve (1), Kye Ralph (1). Assists by Robinson (3), Tamlin (2), Williamson, Ralph, Taylor, Villeneuve, Prinzen, and Corbin-Miron. Alex Brant was in net for the big win.
On Sunday Quinte West traveled to Peterborough to face off against the Petes. It was a battle between both teams as they played hard and never let up. Peterborough scored first to end the 1st period. As the 2nd period began Lucas Scriver opened up the scoring from a beauty pass from Colby MacDonald. This dynamic duo wasn't finished as their next shift MacDonald made another stellar pass to Scriver to give the Hawks the lead. As the second period was wrapping up Colby MacDonald found the back of the net assisted by Michael Villeneuve and Max Taylor. As the third period began Villeneuve scored a beauty, assisted by Kye Ralph. Peterborough would respond with a goal of their own. The Golden Hawks had multiple opportunities to increase their lead, but the Petes goalie was keeping their team alive. Quinte West was able to hold off the Petes taking home the win. Brent Conrod was in net for Quinte West 4-2 victory.
The Golden Hawks are now on a well-deserved break for Christmas holidays. The action will pick back up with a home game against Whitby Blue on January 6th, 2023.
