1st home game of the year!
On February 06th 2022, the U15A Clarington Toros rolled into town for a late afternoon tilt against the U15A Quinte West Golden Hawks.

It was a lopsided affair, in favour of the Golden Hawks taking home the victory, 14-0.

There were 5 goals in the 1st period, Charlie Mooney (x2), Bryce Mitchell, Keagen Carr and Jack Andrews. Assists for these goals were from Colby Coe (x2), Brody Pilatzki, Avery Wease, Jack Andrews, Jacob Brummel, Ethan Kenney and Charlie Mooney. Of noteworthy mention was another big hit given out by star defenceman, Tate Webb. Clarington apparently did not get the ‘Beware of Webb’ advisory message.

In the 2nd period, the Golden Hawks kept the pedal to the floor and scored another 6 goals. Scoring came from Ethan Kenney, Keagen Carr (x2), Nathan Sills, Colby Coe, and Jack Andrews. Assisting on those goals were Jacob Brummell (x2), Brody Pilatzki (x2), Charlie Mooney, Cole Baird, Bryce Mitchell and Dexter Slone.

In the last period, the Hawks netted three more goals. They were scored by Ethan Lord, Keagen Carr and Colby Coe. Assists were from Ethan Kenney, Dryden Riley and Dexter Slone. Ending in a final score of two touchdowns to nothing, or also known in hockey as 14-0.

Dryden Riley was in the net for the Golden Hawks and took home the shutout win. Of noteworthy mention is that Riley also got an assist on a goal during the 3rd period. Following the game, reporters asked Riley, “what are your thoughts about getting your first assist of the season?” Dryden responded with, “I wanted to play the puck more. I am happy to get my first assist.”

This brings the U15A Image Landscaping Quinte West Golden Hawks regular season record to 15-0-0. The team will be busy next weekend, with three road games. The first matchup is versus the Kingston Canadians on Friday, February 11th at 7pm (Centre 70). Then the team will faceoff against Whitby Blue on Saturday at 6:35pm, and will finish off the weekend against the Oshawa Generals on Sunday at 8pm.
