Golden Hawks Open Second Round Series With OT Win
The Trenton Sportsfield Co-op U14 Golden Hawks opened the second round of playoffs with an exciting 3-2 overtime win over the Clarington Toros.
The Toros opened the scoring early in the first period but the Hawks came back to tie it before the end of the period on a goal by Connor Boates. Brendan Reid and Rykken Ellis picked up the assists. Clarington would take the lead again in the second period before Tyson Gregory scored half way through the third to tie the game and send it to overtime. Assists went to Boates and Owen Vis. Early in the overtime period Gregory would score the winner going bar down on a pass from Brendan Reid to complete the comeback and seal the win. Cooper Martin was solid between the pipes for the Golden Hawks.
The Golden Hawks will look to build of the momentum from game one last night and continue there winning ways when they meet the Kingston Canadians tonight in Trenton at 6:30pm.
