The U13 Nomad Golden Hawks Prove to be a Force to be Reckoned With
The U13 Nomad Golden Hawks prove to be a force to be reckoned with in their opening playoff performance.

Ranking fifth in the Lakeshore division would see the Hawks entering the B series of playoffs and going head to head against 3 teams.  The Hawks first game in this series would see them face Peterborough Petes.  Hawks would come out on top with a 5 to 3 victory against the Petes.  Scoring for the GHawks would be Joey Nieman, Hunter Bradbury, Lane Sharp & Riley Kavanagh.  Assists would come from Rhet Sharp, Fynn Ralph, Lane Sharp, Bradbury and Nieman.

Game two against Oshawa would see the teams tied in regulation at 3.  Scoring the game winner would be Andrew Gilson forcing the Hawks ahead with 4.  Joey Nieman would contribute a pair and Riley Kavanagh with a single.

Clarington would then travel to take on the Hawks as Joey Nieman would open the scoring on a penalty shot in front of a hometown crowd.  Lane and Rhet Sharp would each land one in the back of the net to secure the 3 to 1 win over the Toros.  Assists from Rhet Sharp and Malachi Hoornweg.  This victory sealed the fate of the team to make it to the next round in playoffs.

The team would then face off against Whitby White for the final game in the series.  Both teams would be vying for the top spot in the series.  Whitby White would come out on top this game winning 7 to 5 but not without the Hawks putting up a great fight.  Andrew Gilson would open the scoring, Cam Slone would score 2 and Riley Kavanagh and Joey Nieman each landing a goal apiece.  Assists from Hayden Parent, Kale Tawse, Rhet Sharp, Nieman and Slone (2).

All games in this series saw Logan Wain between the pipes, often keeping the boys in the game and leading in the momentum to keep the team in front of him playing hard and tough.

The U13 Nomad Golden Hawks are preparing diligently for the next series  where they have single games against Kingston, Whitby Blue and Whitby White.  You can see the U13 Hawks in action Saturday March 26 at 3:30 for their final home game of the season.  Come on out and cheer for the home team in their quest for the #redhats.
