Undefeated Hawks Keep Soaring
Quinte West U10A Golden Hawks continue with their winning streak this weekend, taking two more wins. 

Hawks travelled to Whitby Friday night to play a suspenseful game against Whitby Wildcats Blue. Final score of the game was 5-1.

Starting goalie on the road was #24 Preston Martin, who protected the net and kept the hawks in the lead. 
Griffin Van Gemeren, Kohen Couperus and Ben Villeneuve started their first shift strong, flying down the ice and scoring within the first 3 minutes of the first period, putting the Hawks up 1-0 against the tough Whitby Blue. The Hawks continued to fight for those goals, but Whitby tied it up just before the end of the first period.
The second period saw the Hawks come out as the stronger team as they put the puck in the net two more times, finishing the period with a lead on the scoreboard of 3-1. Goals in the second period were scored by Karson Hamilton, unassisted and Josh Korver with the assist from Elena Kotsovos.
The Hawks kept up their pace in the third period, scoring two more goals to put them in a 5-1 leading position. Goals in the third period were scored by Noah Carre-Stewart from the point, assisted by Levi Mallory and Roy Finch with the assist from Alex Dolton. 


Saturday the Hawks played Whitby Wildcats Blue on home ice at the Duncan McDonald arena, with another win. Final Score of the game was 7-0.

Starting goalie on home ice was #81 Bryce Lawrence, who protected the net and took home his second shut out in a row! Alex Dolton was a superstar goal scorer for the Hawks in their home game, taking home a hat trick.

First goal of the game was scored by Alex Dolton with an assist from Josh Korver. Alex Dolton put the puck past the goalie again for the second goal of the game, assisted by Roy Finch. Hawks third goal of the first period was scored by Ben Villeneuve, tipped in off Elena Kotsovos' shot from the point. Hawks came out of the first period with a 3-0 lead against Whitby.
The Hawks held strong for the second period, scoring another three goals, maintaining their lead on the scoreboard. Goals in the second period were scored by Karson Hamilton, assisted by Brody Bucholtz, Tye McMurter with an unassisted goal and Griffin Van Gemeren, assisted by Levi Mallory and Ben Villenueve. 
Going in to the third period with a 6-0 lead, the Hawks kept up the pace and played hard. Just one goal was scored in the third period by Alex Dolton, assisted by Noah Trice. 

The U10A Golden Hawks have a bit of a break from regular season games as they travel to Cobourg to participate in the Silver Stick Tournament next weekend!
