U10 Hawks Continue With Winning Streak
U10 Hawks played strong as a team for their first home game in Trenton on Saturday. They took the win with a 10-0 lead against Whitby Wildcats White.
The Hawks came out strong in the first period, scoring 4 goals to put them in the lead. First period goals were scored by #88 Griffin Van Gemeren(2), #13 Josh Korver and #9 Alex Dolton. #17 Kohen Couperus and #13 Josh Korver had assists for the goals in the first period.
The team kept up their pace in the second period, scoring another 3 goals. Second period goals were scored by #12 Brody Bucholtz and #17 Kohen Couperus (2). Assists came from #9 Alex Dolton, #3 Ben Villeneuve and #88 Griffin Van Gemeren.
The team held together in the third period, scoring another three goals to take the win. Third period goals were scored by #88 Griffin Van Gemeren, #5 Noah Carre-Stewart and #9 Alex Dolton. Third period assists came from #3 Ben Villeneuve, #16 Karson Hamilton and #12 Brody Bucholtz.
Goaltending the game was #81, Bryce Lawrence, who held the team together with his first shut out of the season and keeping the team on their winning streak.
Hawks will travel this Friday to Whitby where they will play the Whitby Wildcats Blue team.
On Saturday they will return to home ice at 2pm in Trenton to play the Whitby Wildcats Blue team again.
