The Madison Excavating Bantam A Hawks had a great start to their second round of the OMHA playdowns. The Hawks faced the North Durham Warriors on Saturday and Sunday where they notched two wins.

Saturday the Hawks hosted the Warriors. The Hawks came out strong with a 6-0 win. Goals were scored by Jakob Gardner (3), Vince Bellavance, Michael Dolton and Layne Cocek assisted by Tyvian Koets, Micheal Dolton, Will Potts, Nathan Shuttleworth, Daniel McLeod-Lockwood and Cocek.


Sunday the Hawks traveled to Port Perry to face the Warriors. The Warriors came out strong and found the scoreboard first. The Hawks fought hard and Vince Bellavance finished the period scoring an unassisted goal to tie up the game. The second period had pucks hitting the mesh on both sides with 5 goals being scored. The Hawks scored 3, Shane Jerrett (1) and Layne Cocek (2) assists go to Bellavance (2), Jakob Gardner, Daniel McLeod-Lockwood and Maguire Slone. The Warriors scored 2 to finish the period 4-3. During the third period, the Hawks showed great determination to add another to the scoreboard (Dolton).  The Warriors also found the net late in the third to finish the game 5-4. Seamus Killeen in net for the win. 


The Hawks will host the Warriors on Friday February 7th at 8:15 at the Duncan Memorial. The Hawks will travel to Uxbridge on Saturday February 8th if a fourth game is needed. A home game on Sunday February 8th is also scheduled at 3:15pm if needed.
