The regular season wins continue to add up for the Quinte West Image Landscape Peewee A Hawks. The boys started their weekend with a Saturday road trip to Ajax and they completely dominated this one from start to finish. Holden Webster(Lordy, Mooney) would begin the scoring and Brody Pilatzke(Mooney) would add to the first period lead. The floodgates would open in the second as the Ajax net minder began to show frustration and the Hawks would make them pay over and over again. Goals by Mooney(Lordy), Weasy(Carr), Davis(Carr), and Fanjoy(Coe) would put things out of reach with a 6-0 lead heading into the third period. The Hawks would double their goal total in the third period with more from Davy, Sillsy(Mooney, Pilatzke), Bairdo(Fanjoy, Webby), Carr(Davy), Andrews(Weasy), and Fanjoy(Lordy). Ajax would manage a power play goal in the period to spoil Dryden Riley’s otherwise perfect performance between the pipes, and the Hawks would go home with the huge 12-1 beatdown.

The Hawks returned home on Sunday for a huge matchup against the only team to beat them in the regular season this year. Whitby Blue was riding a two-game winning streak against the Hawks so the boys were out to prove that they were the better team. The first period was fast and intense with a strong forecheck and great puck movement by Quinte West. They outshot Whitby 12-3 in the first but the game remained scoreless after 10 minutes of play. Nate Sills would start the scoring in the second as he exited the penalty box and picked up the puck at centre ice for the beauty breakaway goal. That was the spark needed to get the Hawks rolling as Carr(Webb) would bury one on the very next play. Fanjoy would pot one of his own to finish the second period and pad the 3-0 lead heading into the final frame. The Hawks would not relent in this one as they would score three more in the third: Fanjoy, Coe(Andrews, Mooney), and a shorty by Andrews would bury Whitby Blue. Carson Down picked up another shutout in a solid outing and the Hawks made a huge statement with only 6 games left in the regular season. They will face Whitby Blue one more time before Christmas which should be another great test for the Hawks.
