It was another strong week for the Quinte West Image Landscape Peewee A Hawks!

It was another strong week for the Quinte West Image Landscape Peewee A HawksThe boys started off with a midweek matchup against a gritty Kingston squad.  It was a relatively quiet first period as the Hawks took some time to get rolling, and neither team would find the scoresheet. Sunny Fanjoy would start the scoring in the second period with assists from Tate Webb and Holden Webster.  Avery Wease would add to the lead a short time later to secure a 2-0 lead heading into the final stanza.  Charlie Mooney(Colby Coe, Brody Pilatzke) and Dexter Slone(Cole Baird) would pad the lead in the third but a relentless Kingston team would get 2 late to keep things interesting.  Dryden Riley was solid between the pipes and helped the Hawks maintain a 4-2 win.

This weekend saw the Hawks travel West for 2 games, the first on Saturday against an ornery Ajax team.  This was a physical affair from the start and the Hawks would battle through 18 penalty minutes in what would prove to be a relatively easy win.  The scoring would start in the second period as Fanjoy would make good on a loose puck while exiting the penalty box.  Tate Webb (Nathan Sills) would add another with a beautiful top shelf wrist shot to secure a 2-0 lead heading into the third.  Wease would put things out of reach with a beautiful 2 on 1 passing play from Keegan Carr and finish off Ajax 3-0.  Carson Down had a stellar outing between the pipes and helped secure the shutout.

Sunday had the Hawks travel to Pickering which was completely one-sided from start to finish. Weasy would start the carnage in the first period with an assist from Sillsy.  The floodgates would open in the second frame with Weasy scoring 2 more, both assisted by Jack Andrews, and 2 goals by Charlie Mooney both assisted by Cole Baird.  Bairdo (Davis, Mooney) would get one of his own followed by one to end the period by Webby (Fanjoy, Coe).  The Hawks would get a few more in the third, Andrews (Weasy), Fanjoy (Coe, Webby), and one more by Mooney on a beauty feed from Ethan Lord.  Pickering would only sneak one in past Dryden Riley who otherwise played fantastic in net and secured the 10-1 win. The win puts the Hawks at 11-0 in the regular season leading into a tough AA tournament this weekend in Northumberland.  Let’s go Hawks!!
