Hawks Open Playoffs with Two Wins
The World Elite Training Minor Peewee Hawks came storming out of the gates in the playoffs after faltering slightly at the end of the regular season. The Hawks came away with two big wins and made a statement to the North Durham Warriors that they will be tough to beat in this opening round series.

The series opened on Saturday in Frankford and the Hawks offence was on display as they walked away with a 6-3 victory. Gavin Armstrong and Matt Hicks each had two goals to pace the offence with singles going to Connor Kokonas and Tyson Gregory. Picking up assists were Brendan Reid(3), Eli Kenney, Armstrong, Connor Boates, Cael Hussey and Sterling Poff. Nowl Wallace picked up the win in net.

On Sunday the Hawks traveled to Uxbridge and they had road weary legs early as they fell behind 2-0 just two minutes into the game but once the legs came to life in the second they did not look back and skated to a convincing 7-3 win. Goals came from Reid, Colby Wiersma, Kokonas, Gregory, Kenney, Hussey and Boates while assists went to Boates, Armstrong, Jakob Harnest, Hussey, Wiersma, Aiden Haker and Hicks. Noah Groeneveld secured the win in net.

The Hawks will look to wrap up the series at home on Thursday night. Game time is 7:00pm at the Dunc.
