Hawks Take 3 Of 6 Points This Week
The World Elite Training Minor Peewee Hawks had a win, loss and tie this week.
On Wednesday the Hawks traveled to Oshawa to take on the second place Generals and struggled to find their game eventually falling by a score of 4-2. Colby Wiersma and Brendan Reid supplied the offence while assists went to Cael Hussey, Eli Kenney and Noah Marsh.
On Saturday the Hawks started to come around and squeaked out a 2-2 tie with the Whitby Wildcats. After taking an early 1- lead the home side fell behind 2-1 before scoring the tying goal with just under three minutes to play. Connor Kokonas and Reid scored the goals with assists going to Marsh, Wiersma, Kokonas and Hussey. Nowl Wallace was strong in net preserving the tie.
On Sunday the Hawks snapped out of their short funk against the Ajax Knights and skated away with a 7-1 win. Reid led the offence with five goals while Tyson Gregory scored the other two. Picking up assists were Connor Boates(2), Hussey(2), Kenney, Kokonas and Matt Hicks. Noah Groeneveld was steady in net and picked up the win.
The Hawks will take a break in their Lakeshore League schedule this weekend as they are participating in The Northumberland Silver Stick Regional tournament.
