Hawks lead semi finals 2-0
The Madison Excavating Minor Bantam A Hawks started the Ontario Minor Hockey Association semi-final round on the road facing the Barrie Colts White this weekend with two wins. The Hawks took home an overtime win, with a final score of 3-2 on Saturday and Sunday a 5-1 win.

The Colts took the lead in the first with two quick goals.  The Hawks struck back in the second with a goal from Vince Bellavance finding the mesh unassisted. The Hawks found their offence and continued to strike back to tied things up in the third with Ryan Kirk finding a loose puck at the net and pushing it across the line. Assists go to Maguire Slone and Jack Mason. The rest of the third remained scoreless and the Hawks and Colts went into an overtime period. The Hawks powered through and Daniel McLeod-Lockwood found the net 57 sec into OT, helped by Bellavance. Logan Vale with the win between the pipes.


Sunday the Hawks hosted the Barrie Colts, where the Hawks showed amazing defence and powerful offence. After a scoreless first period, the second period told a different story! Jake Gardner scored in the second making the first mark on the scoreboard assisted by Maguire Slone. Tyvian Koets found the net shortly after firing one in unassisted. Both of these goals were made while shorthanded, these Hawks dug deep and showed our power! Slone then fired one in to add another mark on the board! Daniel McLeod-Lockwood charged through and found the net to end he second with a score of 4-0. The Hawks added another goal early in the third with a goal off the face-off by Vince Bellavance. Barrie scored late in the third but the Hawks continued to hold off the Colts for the remainder of the game. Seamus Killeen with the win in net.


The Hawks will be back in Barrie on Friday night for game 3 @ 8pm and game 4 will be at the Community Gardens Saturday at 4:30pm if needed. Come out and support these Hawks! Bring your noise makers and 50/50 money.
