Bantam AA CAN/AM Challenge Cup Finalists
The Madison Excavating Minor Bantam A Hawks traveled to Lake Placid this past weekend (Oct. 25-28th) to play in the AA Bantam Can/Am Challenge Cup Tournament. They fought hard and brought home some silver hardware, Bantam AA CAN/AM Challenge Cup Finalists.


On Friday morning, the Hawks battled the Boston Jr Eagles AAA to a 5-1 win. Seamus Killeen with the win.

At the Skills Competition for all the Bantam Division held on Friday afternoon (Can/Am Challenge Cup), our players participated in three different skill areas, shooting, goaltending and speed (relay). Seamus Killeen showed his skills becoming the Bantam Shoot Out Winner! We had another player who showed their skills, Ryan Kirk put his writing skills to the test and entered the Bantam Essay contest stating why he should be the recipient of a $1000 Collegiate Scholarship to a CAN/AM Hockey camp and he was successful!

Later on Friday night, the Hawks took the ice late and challenged the Monroe County Eagles AA from Rochester, NY. The Hawks added another win to their belt with final score of 5-1. The Eagles took the lead with a goal late in the first. That did not take the Hawks spirit away. They found their power and found the net. Seamus Killeen with the win.

Saturday morning Hawks came out to play the Leaside Flames AA team from Toronto, ON and fought to a 3-1 loss.

The Hawks faced the Jr. Eagles once again on Saturday evening. We found the net at the end of the first. The Jr. Eagles could not get one passed our goaltender who was putting forth a solid game once again. Seamus Killeen with the win.

The Hawks entered the gold medal game Sunday morning, which ended up being an Ontario Battle against the Leaside Flames. They started the game off strong. Leaside found the net late in the first to make their mark on the board. In the second, the Hawks held off the Flames and they could not find the back of the net. Without losing hope they dug deep going into the third but Leaside found the net late in the period to make it a final score of 2-0 and clinched the gold medal. The coaches and parents could not be prouder of the players who played a solid tournament right to the final buzzer.
